Our summer is gradually drawing to a close and it is time to consider how we might usefully use the longer autumn nights. The Regional Board is keen to offer a range of professional development activities for both our younger and more experienced members. We are also keen to engage with our partners in the HE sector and ensure we have some useful activities to engage you.
We held our first event on Tuesday of this week – “Effective Leadership in Uncertain Times” presented by Dr David Beech, Lecturer in People Management, Salford University. It was a very good event and the thought provoking content provoked some excellent questions from the audience. We had an audience of c. 25-30 attendees in all. It would be good to welcome more of our members to our events, and to involve more members in planning and delivering them via the Regional Board. If you wish to see more activity organised by the CMI in your area, please get in touch with us – we will be delighted to hear from you. Our objective is to re-invigorate our local networks covering Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and the Isle of Man. This is a great opportunity to get in touch with your regional board members, to network with fellow professionals, and to help us develop an informative, stimulating and hopefully inspirational programme of activities across the region.
Our events programme comprises three events plus two webinars at present, but we are organizing more, particularly aiming to involve our younger membership. Please add www.managers.org.uk/northwestevents to your “Favourites” list in your web browser. We do hope we will see you soon at one or more of our events.
