Our May meeting saw members say goodbye and good luck to Sabrina Ihaddaden, Future Leaders Champion. Sabrina has been an enthusiastic member of the East Midlands CMI Regional Board and as many CMI Women members will know, she was a regular organiser of their events and webinars. We were lucky to have Sabrina as a member of the East Midlands Regional Board when she was also busy carving out a career at Bombardier and leading the Young Rail Professionals (a not-for-profit organisation which aims to inspire, promote and develop the next generation) where she reached the dizzy heights of National Chairwoman and CEO. Sabrina also somehow found time to become a finalist in the European Women in Construction and Engineering awards having previously won Young Achiever of the Year at the National Management & Leadership Awards. There is no doubt that Sabrina has a bright future ahead of her as a leading engineer and manager in the international engineering sector, and we wish her every success.
The Board also said farewell to Alison Cook, our Events Champion. Denise Skinner, Chair of the East Midlands Regional Board, took the opportunity to thank Alison for her significant contributions and commitment since joining the Board in January 2018. There are many successes to note, but Alison played a key role in the vision for, and organisation of, the 2018 Midlands Conference: The Core of Success. Additionally, Alison played an integral role in developing plans for Chartered Manager regional awards events which have been received positively across the region. The Board wishes Alison every success in the future.
