Danielle Keeling

Danielle is currently a third-year undergraduate student at The University of Derby studying toward a BA (Hons) Business Management degree, with a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.

Danielle is the chair of the CMI Student Board at the University of Derby which now has 16 members, having set it up in early 2017. The student board at Derby is designed to encourage student engagement with the CMI, but it also prides itself on supporting the employability development of the students involved by providing them with opportunities to develop skills such as team leadership, project management, event planning, public speaking and more, all whilst supporting the CMI and therefore benefitting all involved.

Danielle is also a member of the CMI East Midlands regional board, her role involves helping the CMI to engage with students both regionally and nationally whether that is through supporting the development of similar board structures in other universities with CMI accredited degrees, or by speaking on the behalf of students at national events such as the CMI HE Conference in London in 2017, or the CMI Midlands Conference at the ICC in Birmingham in 2017.

At just 21 years old Danielle has acquired a significant amount of experience for her age having worked, volunteered and performed work experience placements since she was 14. Danielle has held numerous positions working with the public, independently and working within or leading teams for organisations such as The National Citizens Service. Danielle has taken part in many work experience placements initiated independently with organisations such as The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, The Magic Whiteboard Company (as seen on Dragon’s Den), The Prince’s Trust and more. Danielle has also volunteered in various capacities since 2014 with organisations such as Young Enterprise, Childreach International, The RSPCA and more. Danielle has also recently become part of an elite group who have achieved their Gold, Silver and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Alongside her studies Danielle has recently become a self-employed bespoke marketing, business development and management consultant working with a few local SME’s but is currently seeking a graduate position to compliment her skills and experience with a view to begin during the summer of 2018, following the completion of her course.
