Prathivadi Anand FCMI

P.B. Anand is reader in environmental economics and public policy, and Head of the Centre for International Development at the University of Bradford. His work focuses on public policy for promoting equality, human development and sustainability. He has written and published extensively on the institutional economics of water, waste management and sustainability.

He is the author of Scarcity, entitlements and the economics of water in developing countries and the principal author of the Mongolia National Human Development Report 2011 titled 'From Vulnerability to Sustainability'. Dr Anand is a Fellow of the Human Development and Capability Association, a Fellow of the royal Asiatic Society and the Convenor of the Environment and Ethics study group of the Development Studies Association since 1999.

Dr Anand has over ten years of Board level experience including on the Senate of the University, governorship of a primary and a Grammar school and of a UK registered charity.

 He is currently co-editing the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of BRICS and Emerging Economies.
