Higher Education Moderator Home-based with travel as required About the role: As a Higher Education (HE) Moderator, you will play a crucial role in upholding the integrity and consistency of CMI qualifications within Higher Education settings. This vital position involves providing independent oversight of marking standards, ensuring alignment with CMI Learning Outcomes, and supporting dual accreditation mapping. Join us in maintaining regulatory compliance and the high standards of the CMI product portfolio, contributing directly to the quality assurance of future management and leadership professionals. *Please note, this role is being offered as an 18-month fixed-term contract* Responsibilities: Moderation: Sample, review, and moderate assessment evidence and samples from Higher Education partners to ensure validity, reliability, sufficiency, and consistent marking, meeting CMI and regulatory standards. Provide feedback on sampling activities. Mapping: Map CMI Partners and programmes against CMI qualifications (RQF Levels 5-8) and units, and the CMI Professional Standard, ensuring learning outcomes, assessment criteria, and professional criteria are met. Recommend adjustments as needed. Map competency framework content for strategic partners and contribute to product development. Quality Assurance: Apply VACSR principles to all assessment evidence. Provide evaluative moderation reports, identifying compliance risks, and recommend assessment outcome adjustments. Contribute to standardisation activities. Support and Development: Provide constructive feedback to Higher Education partners, identify and disseminate good practice, and support CMI staff and partners in understanding regulatory and awarding body requirements. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure moderation aligns with regulatory conditions. Complete timely, accurate reports. Escalate risks, malpractice, or maladministration. Provide required data and suggest policy improvements. Adhere to all CMI policies, especially the Code of Conduct. Standardisation: Attend and participate in all activities and standardisation sessions. Essential Higher Education teaching, assessment, or external examining experience. Strong grasp of UK qualification frameworks (RQF, FHEQ) and quality assurance. Quality Assurance qualification or equivalent. Experience, understanding, and technical knowledge of leadership and management qualifications. Experience in creating and maintaining high-quality customer relationships. Ability to attend meetings in person (UK) or online (overseas); occasional overseas travel may be required. Enthusiastic about education and maintaining standards. Desirable Experience with professional bodies or awarding organisations. CMI or relevant professional body membership. Understanding of CASS.
