Susannah is a senior manager in IBM Consulting. She originally joined the IBM Research Labs as a software engineer, where she put her Masters degree in Astrophysics to good use and gained a patent for her invention in assistive healthcare technologies. However, it was clear that Susannah’s real passion and talent was working with human beings to solve complex problems – so she transferred to IBM Consulting.
Armed with an analytical and creative problem solving mind, she is able to orchestrate delivery across technically complex areas in a user centric manner. Her trademark style is indicative of the values she holds close – inclusivity, integrity and trust – evident across everything she does.
Susannah shines when delivering challenging programmes; coaching teams to perform, and bringing an infectious positive energy. Her ability to build relationships with her stakeholders really sets her apart; they see her as a trusted advisor on whom they can rely. Susannah has built a followership of top talent – she invests in and cares deeply about the progression and wellbeing of her teams. She is a fierce advocate for developing female talent in technology and is a shining role model through her work leading the people agenda and LBGTQ+ Ally programme.
Susannah’s career as a transformation and strategy consultant has spanned several of IBM’s most prestigious clients. She has led programmes which help keep the country safe, and created digital strategies which are having a measurable impact on the sustainability of our critical supply chains.
Matt McCabe is a highly driven, experienced and passionate Chartered Management Consultant. He focuses on driving transformation within the policing sector and has become a leading authority for both EY’s police clients and for EY itself. He works alongside senior leaders to deliver solutions within the challenging operating environment of policing, through data and digital solutions.
Matt is recognised for his relentless client focus and experience working on the most complex programmes. Recently, he led the data and design aspects of the largest technology-enabled transformation programme in global policing within the UK’s largest police force. He also led the end-to-end technology-enabled transformation at a large metropolitan police force along with the quality assurance of the data, digital, and ICT business case for a large UK police force, which set out their strategy for the next five years.
Furthermore, his drive to grow and enhance the professionalism of EY’s Consulting practice has seen him expand EY’s talent base. For example, Matt authored the business case for making EY’s graduate programme national (where it was previously focused solely on London), creating national opportunities and giving EY access to a far wider talent base. He is also inspiring the next generation of talent, sponsoring the EY New Senior Programme and delivering the keynote opening plenary, which received outstanding feedback. For his work, he has been recognised at EY’s EMEIA Facilitator Awards.
Having started consulting in March 2012, Guy has now been delivering complex transformation programmes for over 10 years. During this time, he has moved from a graduate position through to director, and was delighted to become a Chartered Management Consultant in 2020.
Guy has led engagements across Europe, America, Asia and Australia, selling and delivering programmes across all aspects of finance transformation. In the past few years, he has focused on private-sector SAP-enabled transformations, where he specialises in establishing and delivering client business cases through technology-enabled operating model transformations across a variety of industries.
Guy demonstrates every aspect of what it means to be Chartered: leadership, integrity, competence, curiosity and attitude. His chartered status has led to a real step up in his impact with PwC’s clients and teams, including helping the firm win a global, four-year transformation programme across 90 countries.
Guy has also been focused on leading the operating model and business case community within PwC, creating the structure, capability and experience to sell and deliver multi-year programmes, and enabling clients to deliver real value from their transformations.
Guy always does what’s right – by his team, the firm and his clients. Not only this, but he also brings a unique sense of fun to proceedings and is always there with a joke when needed. As one client comments: “Having a partner like Guy, with a hands-on attitude, great coaching skills, analytical thinking, being organised, knowledgeable and funny, makes this transformation an exciting learning journey.”
Congratulations to all of the 2022 shortlisted candidates, who have all demonstrated their excellence and commitment to management consulting.
