It is truly an honour and a deeply humbling experience to be nominated for the Chartered Manager of the Year Award. I view this recognition not only as a personal milestone, but as a reflection of the collective efforts of the teams, leaders, and organisations I have had the privilege to work with. It reinforces my commitment to ethical leadership, continuous development, and creating sustainable value for organisations and the wider community.

I’m a little lost for words; which, for anyone who knows me, is saying something. To be nominated and shortlisted for Chartered Manager of the Year 2025 is both shocking and deeply humbling. I became chartered to hold myself to a higher standard: to evidence my skills and knowledge in leadership, and to do the right thing for people and passengers. Even so, this recognition feels bigger than me. It reflects the passion, skill and dedication of the teams I’m lucky to work with across Major Projects at TransPennine Express and within the TRU enterprise.

Being nominated for the Chartered Manager of the Year Award is both humbling and exciting. It’s a wonderful recognition of the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of my team, as much as my own efforts. I feel proud to represent a values-driven approach to leadership, one that prioritises inclusivity, ethical decision-making, and people development and it’s incredibly motivating to see those principles acknowledged at this level. The nomination also gives me a moment to reflect on the journey so far, from learning and growing in marketing and digital transformation to supporting others to reach their potential. It’s an honour, and a real boost to continue striving to lead with integrity and impact.

It reflects not only my own journey, but the trust, commitment, and shared effort of the many teams and colleagues I have had the privilege to work with throughout my career. This nomination reinforces my belief in values led leadership leading with integrity, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to developing people while delivering sustainable results. I accept it with gratitude and a renewed sense of responsibility to continue contributing to the management profession and upholding the standards of the Chartered Management Institute.

I am still smiling from the news; it is a deeply humbling honour to be recognised by the Chartered Management Institute. This nomination serves as a powerful validation of my long term commitment to professional growth, moving from leadership apprenticeships to an Executive MBA. I am incredibly grateful to the mentors, colleagues, and family who have supported and believed in me over the years. For me, it confirms that leading with integrity and building belief in others is recognised as a benchmark for excellence at the highest level of our profession. This recognition isn't just for me, it's for anyone starting their journey or currently on it; don't stop, don't give up, you will never regret finishing what you started.

Being shortlisted would strengthen my credibility within management and leadership by reinforcing the value of chartered, standards-based practice in complex organisational settings. It signals peer recognition that leadership grounded in professional judgement, ethical responsibility, and long-term capability building remains central to effective management.
