Annellise Chua, a First-Class Honours graduate in Global Supply Chain Management (Degree) from Sunway University, has been distinguished with the Tan Sri Sir Jeffrey Cheah Scholastic Award for her outstanding academic achievements. With a deep passion for supply chain management, she currently serves as a Supply Chain Management Executive at a private semiconductor company, where she leverages her expertise such as to optimize procurement processes and strengthen supplier relationships.
My name is Akshaya, a final year student at IPK College where I'm completing my Diploma in Accountancy and going to pursue in Bachelor of Science (Hons) Accounting & Finance. I have consistently demonstrated exceptional talent and perseverance, achieving a CGPA of 3.66 from Semester 1 to Semester 5. My commitment to academic excellence has earned me a place on the Dean's List every semester. I have also taken on leadership roles, managing team dynamics and ensuring thorough completion of tasks makes me a standout student, contributing positively to both academic and professional environments. I have shown commitment to personal and professional development, actively attending classes and learning from lecturers which improves my communication, social, and leadership skills, and seeks opportunities to broaden my business and accounting knowledge. I believe my plans to pursue higher accounting qualifications like ACCA or CIMA, and a dream of becoming an entrepreneur will come true with the efforts I make now.
So Hiu Lam, Oliver, is a fresh graduate from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Enterprise Engineering with Management. She also minored in marketing to gain insights into the business aspects of enterprises. Oliver's attainment of First Class Honours is a testimonial to her outstanding academic performance. Moreover, as a social media manager intern at an EdTech startup, Oliver actively applies her course knowledge and abilities in real-world contexts. Oliver's specific interests include utilising the convergence of enterprise engineering, management principles, and information technology. She recognises the combination's potential for effective resource management, competitive advantages, and the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Winning the CMI Student of the Year award would be incredible – on a personal level it would more than confirm I am on the right career path after I encountered well-documented barriers to women returning to work in science following a career break to raise a family. Regardless of whether I win this award, I am so grateful for being given the key to unlock my own potential through doing the course at all, but even more grateful for the understanding that the same key unlocks the potential of the people on my team – for me, seeing them grow and succeed has been the real reward.
