Cyber attacks have taken down some of the world’s best-known organisations. Marks & Spencer and Co-op are just two that have suffered. As Mark Loon CMgr FCMI, professor and dean of the School of Business and Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, puts it, “there are armies of full-time criminals using very sophisticated methods in a constant effort to break through.”

What often gets lost in the coverage of these high-profile incidents is that cybersecurity is, in essence, a management problem. “Cyber criminals understand psychological vulnerability and they're out to exploit it,” says Mark. “They just need one person to have an off-day.” Psychological safety and cybersecurity go hand in glove.
