This inquiry was launched in the summer of 2020 as part of the committee's super-inquiry on ‘Post-Pandemic Economic Growth’. The inquiry sought to examine whether the Government's Industrial Strategy focused on the right sectors, issues and policy areas.

In March 2021, during the course of the inquiry, the Government announced that the Industrial Strategy would be scrapped and replaced with the new Plan for Growth, intended to reflect the new economic circumstances brought on by Brexit and the Pandemic.

The Committee has published its report on this inquiry, which is available online here.
