Whether you are an employer or an education and training provider, Chartered Manager adds clear value to your programmes and development pathways.
Stronger talent and leadership pipeline
Give your managers a clear standard to work towards, aligned to CMI’s Professional Standards, so they build the mindset, behaviours and skills your organisation needs at every level.
Clear advantage in a crowded market
Stand out to candidates, learners and partners with a recognised professional title that strengthens recruitment, retention and satisfaction.
Recognition built into existing delivery
Learners build their evidence while on programme, with Chartered status achieved through approved CMI routes, keeping the process simple for your teams.
Our leaders who achieve Chartered Manager status wear it as a badge of honour. It gives them credibility and makes them strong role models. We have seen a major improvement in our leadership and management capability across the organisation as a result.

Embedded Chartered Manager
Embed Chartered Manager (CMgr) into your existing CMI qualification. Learners achieve CMgr upon completion, provided they meet the experience criteria.* This creates a clear route from learning to professional recognition with no separate application required.
Eligibility after Apprenticeships
Apprentices completing approved management apprenticeships can progress to Chartered Manager through CMI’s post-EPA pathway, so their professional recognition continues long after funded learning ends.
Corporate Membership
Combine Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) for aspiring managers with Chartered Manager pathways and CMI Corporate Membership. Support progress towards professional status at every stage, while building development, benchmarking and leadership standards across your organisation.
*Learners must normally have at least 3+ years of management and/or leadership experience in a role comparable to a middle or operational manager, or above, by course end. Eligible routes include selected Level 5/6 Diploma or Extended Diplomas, and Level 7/8 Certificates, Diplomas and Extended Diplomas.
Whether you are an employer or a provider, we can help you shape a Chartered pathway for your managers and learners. Share a few details and a member of the CMI team will get in touch to discuss your goals, programmes and next steps.
