Article: The Chartered Manager bridging science, tech and education Written by Walé Azeez Thursday 02 July 2026 Share Share to LinkedIn Share to Facebook Share via email Dr Musarat Kabir Chisty CMgr MCMI, our Chartered Manager of the Week, has taken a winding route from cancer research and science teaching to AI entrepreneurship Dr Musarat Kabir Chisty CMgr MCMI may only have gained her Chartered Manager accreditation in April this year, but she has a lifetime of management experience gained through a winding career path. A qualified biochemist with a specialism in ovarian cancer research, Musarat worked in academia and clinical research within the pharmaceutical industry, including with Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline. After leaving her career in life sciences in 2014, she gained a PGCE qualification and taught secondary school science in the UK and abroad. She also spent some time as a visiting university lecturer involved in STEM apprenticeship teaching and mentoring. Are you a Chartered Manager with a story to tell? Contact us She remains connected to youth development today as a mentor with the Social Mobility Foundation. She also runs a tech company that serves the education sector, among others. Evidencing leadership capability And now, she tells us, her Chartered Manager qualification serves as the ribbon that “ties together” all of these managerial experiences into a multidisciplinary whole. While Musarat has been managing people and processes across disparate fields for some time, “I’ve been managing my own teams since 2022,” she says, having joined Cloutech Innovations, where she is managing director, in London, before moving to the United Arab Emirates the following year. The company provides AI-driven platforms for business development, operations and audit/compliance services.
