Meet the employers
Nathan Olivieri - Unilever

Nathan shares valuable insight into how Apprentices can benefit organisations of any size and in all sectors.  Unilever is increasing productivity by championing apprenticeships and supporting the leaders of tomorrow.

Employing apprentices into the business quite early on, allows us to have a view to the manager that we want them to be and we are able to ensure they are getting the relevant experience... As managers of the future, it’s really exciting to be involved from the offset.

Nathan Olivieri, Global Brand Manager, Water Innovation, Unilever.

Olivia Smith, Unilever

Earn-while-you-learn degree apprenticeships unlock a variety of professional development opportunities providing you with transferable skills valued and recognised by employers. Watch Olivia’s story to find out how she is benefitting from the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship.

I’d been in conflict with myself about whether to go to university, or go down the route of an apprenticeship. What seems so perfect about the programme is that you can work, and get real time experience, which is what I wanted, but I still got the qualification of the degree.

This apprenticeship has been really helpful for my own confidence, especially as it is the first time I am taking on more managerial responsibilities in my direct role.

Andrew Anderson, Team Leader, ICBC Standard Bank

At school I always preferred to learn by doing, and so I felt an apprenticeship was the right course for me. I find it incredible that at the age of 21, I’ll have not only a degree but also a professional status. I’ll already be in a role with a job under my belt and I’ll have the work experience.

Haleema Baker-Mir, Apprentice at Nestle

Yes, it takes a fair amount of dedication when you’re working full time, but I tried to incorporate as much as possible of the course into my work, which helped a lot.
