Level 5 in Business Support

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 qualifications in Business Support have been developed by CMI Awarding Body in cooperation with the Institute of Consulting (IC).

These qualifications are aimed at Advisers that support SME Market. The core units within these qualifications are focused on developing effective business support relationships with clients, enabling the client to analyse the business and implement change, developing business support networks, reflective practice and development in business support and monitoring the business support service.

Award

Our Level 5 Award Business Support gives you the skills to understand the importance of communication skills in business support relationships, understand the business support process and how to conduct and develop oneself as a business support adviser.

Certificate

A more extensive qualification, our CMI Level 5 Certificate in Business Support gives you a broader knowledge of the role of a Business Support Adviser while focusing on the specific business support areas appropriate to the role of an adviser.

Diploma

With a more comprehensive structure, our Level 5 Diploma in Business Support gives you the skills and competencies you’ll need to become an Adviser. A CMI Diploma in Business Support is the benchmark qualification for full IC membership, taking you another step towards Chartered Manager status.

• Monitoring the business support service
• Enable to client to analyse the business and implement change

Assessment

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments provided by your Approved Centre. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation's context.

Progression

IC and CMI recommendation for progression once completing the Business Support qualifications would be to progress onto CMI Level 6/Level 7 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership qualifications.  CMI Level 7 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring or CMI Level 7 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Professional Consulting.

Top Up

Learners who have previously completed the Certificate in Business Support or the Diploma in Business Support can opt to do a “top up” qualification. By doing this, learners are able to gain a greater understanding of Business Support and achieve a recognised qualification on the Regulated Qualification Framework.
