Urban Wellbeing: from Me to We

Wednesday 14 July 2021

Did you know that over 80% of the UK population live in urban environments and 50% globally?
Wellbeing is the state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. It refers to our physical, psychological, spiritual, social and economic state. Where we live and work, and how we interact affects our wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. Yet, when we talk about wellbeing we tend to refer to the individual without their community or environment. It is time to shift the paradigm from my wellbeing to urban wellbeing for the communities we live and work in.

In this session...

Join Magda Flores, Managing Director, Urban Wellbeing Solutions and Gillian Saieva, CMI South East board host, to consider the spaces we live and work in, how we interact within them and understand how small changes can have big benefits for all. Magda Flores encourages organisations to take a holistic, community-based approach to wellbeing. Often relatively simple changes to the community environment can significantly improve the wellbeing of everyone.

Magda and Gillian will explore the concepts of the pillars of society and community and CMI research to illustrate the advantages of a human centred approach.
