The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Management (APPGM) exists to help develop closer understanding between politicians, managers and business leaders. The formal terms of reference of the APPGM are:
“to drive UK productivity and social well-being through promoting closer understanding between parliamentarians and UK managers and leaders from across all sectors.”
The Group has been running for over thirty years. It is currently chaired by Barry Sheerman MP and has around 70 members.
Supported by the CMI, the APPGM's well-attended meetings provide a lively forum for high-level debate on topical management and leadership themes, introduced by high-profile guest speakers.
Members of the APPGM receive regular briefings on management-related issues, CMI's monthly Management Matters newsletter and are invited to contribute to the CMI’s Professional Manager magazine.
Parliamentarians are welcome to register as members of the Group to help support the aim of improving management and leadership across the UK. For more information please contact Rob Wall on 020 7421 2717 or email rob.wall@managers.org.uk
The CMI's policy submissions to Government departments are based on the latest research and surveys among our membership, and thereby represent the views of practicing managers across the UK.
