CEO Ann Francke in 2020 New Year Honours list

Ann Francke, CEO of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has been awarded an OBE for services to Workplace Equality in the 2020 New Year Honours list.

Ann Francke was appointed CEO in 2012 and in that time has overseen achievements including:

  • 135 new education partners
  • A record 55% growth in CMI’s learner community
  • Advising the Government Equalities Office on gender pay gap regulations
  • Regular publications on gender and diversity, such as Blueprint for Balance
  • An expert on gender balance in the workplace, Ann has spoken frequently at conferences and in the media on this topic, and has also spoken on gender balance, equal pay gap, and women in the corporate world. She is the author of ‘Financial Times Guide to Management: How to Make a Difference and Get Results’ (2014) and ‘Create a Gender-Balanced Workplace’ (2019) in Penguin’s Business Experts series.

Ann Francke the CEO of The Chartered Management Institute said:

I am deeply honoured to have received this award in the New Years Honours list. I am thankful to all of my colleagues at The Chartered Management Institute for their support and in contributing to the success of CMI.
Before CMI, Ann began her career at Proctor & Gamble, managing various brands including Pampers, Always, and Olay before rising to Global General Manager. She has also held senior executive positions at Boots and Yell, was European Vice President at Mars, and Global General Manager at the British Standards Institution (BSI).

Ann was named one of the top 100 Women to Watch in Cranfield University’s 2015 Female FTSE Board Report, and awarded the 2016 MemCom award for outstanding leadership of a UK professional body and the Mark of Excellence at the 2017 Association Excellence Awards. She holds several Board positions and five Honorary Doctorates for her work in management and leadership.
