Press release:

Terrific Triple: CMI in the spotlight with three big wins at Best Companies Live 2021

Monday 24 May 2021

Circumstances may have forced it to be a virtual event but the sense of achievement was keenly felt for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) as employees celebrated an impressive triple victory at the awards celebrating the best of British employers.

BBC Breakfast anchor Dan Walker hosted the event which was broadcast live today (Friday 21 May) from MediaCity in Salford.  Best Companies Live, dubbed the employee engagement event of the year, celebrated the UK’s best employers.

CMI had much to celebrate not only winning 67th place in the Top 100 Best Mid-Sized Companies to work for category, but also winning second place in the brand new Not for Profit Bodies to work for category. It also achieved a 14th place ranking (Top 50) on the Best mid-sized companies to work for in London and a 61st place ranking (Top 100) Best mid-sized companies to work for in the Midlands.

CMI achieved a Best Companies Index score of 721.9 and a two star outstanding level of engagement rating.

All CMI employees were invited to enjoy a virtual front row seat and watch the awards live throughout the day. In addition to the award announcements the event also included a wide range of content covering an array of subjects including the importance of engagement and the future of the workplace.

Reflecting on the triple win, Ann Francke, Chief Executive of CMI, said:

This is a great day for CMI and all of our employees. As the Chartered Body for Management and Leadership it’s important that we practice what we preach and I’m proud to say in achieving these rankings, it shows that we do. This achievement is the result of all the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our entire CMI team and it’s wonderful that we were all able to celebrate it together - albeit virtually.

Meanwhile Anne Moffatt, Head of Human Resources at CMI commented:

People work best when they’re happy and employers have a big part to play in achieving this through good management. Hopefully our wins at Best Companies will inspire more of the best people to join us.

Best Companies award accreditation status is based on the unique BCI scores generated by the b-Heard employee survey sent to employees of all companies entering the awards.
