Head of Higher Education Partnerships

Base - Field Based with UK travel

An opportunity has become available to lead CMI’s Head of Higher Education Partnerships team. We are looking for a great manager who can lead and inspire an experienced sales team, to deliver on the ambition of CMI within the Higher Education Sector. The ideal candidate will need to have experience of selling to, or in-depth knowledge of the Higher Education sector as well as demonstrable, proven management experience.

Job purpose

  • To lead the acquisition, growth and account management of HE Partnerships with responsibility to achieve and exceed the overall HE sales targets within the UK for CMI
  • To drive sales through all channels (Dual accreditation, Apprenticeships, Employability, International (through UK partners only), Staff Development and Devolved Chartered Manager)
  • To deploy strategic planning across the team of relationship managers, enabling effective business development reporting to the business
  • To lead the HE Relationship Manager Team by supporting the team through ongoing training, personal development and leading our value proposition with the team.
  • Effective cross-functional coordination within CMI; and effective, collaborative execution of those plans
  • To maximise CMI’s position as market-leader in providing support for HE students’ employability skills and management and leadership capability within the region through our value proposition
  • To proactively support CMI’s strategy to convert students into paid membership and Chartered Manager status

Key responsibilities

  • Meeting & exceeding overall HE Team revenue targets / KPIs in line with the wider aims and objectives of the directorate and CMI.
  • Developing, managing and monitoring a regional development plan, enabling significant growth in invoiced sales and customer satisfaction to achieve KPI’s
  • Defining, managing and monitoring personal development for all team members
  • Embedding best practice across the team and further build an ethos of sharing across directorate
  • Supporting the Director of Partner Development on other projects aligned the HE department as required
  • Leading/playing a pivotal role in projects which further enhance CMI’s brand credibility within the HE sector( e.g. Partner Conference and other events hosted by CMI)
  • Building relationships across VCs and Deans within the HE Sector
  • Ensuring people are managed, trained, motivated and developed to achieve optimum performance.

Senior Relationship Manager

Base - Field Based with UK travel

Salary - Up to £50,000 per annum plus company car/allowance and fantastic benefits

We are looking to recruit an ambitious and proactive senior sales relationship manager who has a proven track record of driving strategic and commercial sales growth. This sales role would be working within our key strategic partners team, which will work across all our key partner sectors including Higher Education, Training Providers and Employers.

The role is fast paced, target driven and a classic mix of and growing sales through existing relationships with our priority partners and developing new business. We are inviting applications from individuals who are comfortable in managing an annual sales opportunity pipeline of circa £5 million by liaising with C suite executives across the HR and L&D community as well senior stakeholders within the Higher Education arena. We are open to consider applications from individuals from other commercial backgrounds with a demonstrable track record of achieving sales success.

You will be a key member of a great national sales team reporting into the Head of National Strategic Partnerships. We offer an attractive salary and bonus package along with a wide suite of company benefits including bupa medical cover, flexible working and career development opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Growing CMI’s presence within our key partners and identifying sales growth opportunities. Developing and managing senior relationships whilst driving a sales pipeline of £5 million. There will also be an element of new business development where clients have been identified as potential key strategic partners.
  • Leading strategic engagement with C suite decision makers at Director and Head of Capacity across the HR and Learning & Development community as well as VC’s and Deans of our leading university partners. Delivering on CMI’s vision for better management and leadership and CMI’s value proposition.
  • Understanding customer pain points, ambitions and strategically aligning the value of our customer offering as a solution.
  • Managing a portfolio of existing customer relationships. Ensuring they are well supported and developing upsell / cross sell opportunities.
  • Creating internal champions and advocates across client portfolio via our member community.
  • Liaising with relevant internal stakeholders at CMI to develop innovative engagement models and marketing solutions to drive customer engagement. Identifying and implementing new working practices and processes to improve the customer journey and experience with CMI, leading to positive NPS scores.

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with a proven track record of sales success and developing strong customer relationships across corporate and public sector employers.
  • Someone who has managed an individual annual sales opportunity pipeline of circa £5 million. Regularly qualifying the quality and strength of the opportunities across customer portfolio.
  • You will have grown business through upselling / cross selling across existing client portfolio.
  • You will have a demonstrable track record of developing new business opportunities and self generating new leads.
  • Experienced in developing innovative solutions to drive engagement and improve customer journey and experience leading to uptake of products and services.
  • Someone who is confident in developing and undertaking sales presentations to a senior audience. Comfortable in networking at large industry leading conferences and events.
  • Someone who is regularly looking for opportunities to self develop and learn new skills.
  • You will have a working knowledge of managing a sales pipeline via Salesforce CRM ideally. However, training will be provided.

Social Media Executive

Base - London

Salary - £28,500

We’re looking for a creative and ambitious Social Media Executive to join our team. Social media is a key communications channel at CMI, covering national policy and current affairs, member engagement, marketing and community management. The Social Media Executive supports the Head of Social Media and the Social Media and Content Producer to plan and create content across all our social media channels.

This role requires a combination of creative and analytical skills. You will plan and create your own written and visual content as well as write design briefs for campaigns and projects. You need to be able to analyse the success of social media content and make changes based on the analysis. You will also be responsible for responding to queries received on our social media channels and engaging with our key audiences.

You will be responsible for:

  • creating and scheduling content across all of CMI’s main social media channels
  • planning the content calendar and coordinating projects
  • providing good customer service by responding to and assigning queries received on social media
  • engaging with existing and target audiences on social media
  • assisting the Social Media Content Producer and the Head of Social Media with campaigns and events
  • live social media coverage at major events
  • analysing and reporting on social media content
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders

You will need the following skills and experience to be considered for this role:

  • creative with both content, ideas and solutions to problems
  • highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • able to work to short deadlines
  • able to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • excited about learning new things and always looking for ways to improve
  • proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop
  • data-driven with the ability to analyse the effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
  • experienced in creating visual and written content for social media
  • experienced in using social media management tools such as Hootsuite and Falcon
  • demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • degree educated, preferably in marketing, communications, PR or a related field.

The following skills and experience are an added bonus:

  • video and podcast recording and editing
  • experience working in a membership organisation, industry body or education.
  • use of Google Analytics for analysis and reporting
  • experience with social media advertising
  • knowledge of the latest social media trends
  • experience using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.

This role reports to the Head of Social Media and works alongside the Social Media and Content Producer.
