Supporting learners at Sunway University May 2025 Would you wake up early for your 8.00 am lecture at your university on a Friday morning? And it’s for two long hours! But wait. It’s a guest lecture sharing session this morning. By someone external. Hmmm…not your usual internal lecturer from the university. Hang on. And the topic is an interesting one. “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙚 𝙖 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧.” Something you’ve not heard before. Not exactly what you would expect from the Management Module lectures. Well, some 150 Sunway University and Sunway Business School undergraduates from various disciplines, beyond those from the Management module, showed up!🙌 All bright-eyed, bushy-tailed. Curious yet enthusiastic. And I was given the mike to deliver this guest lecture sharing session this morning 23 May 2025 at the campus in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In my capacity as Board Member, Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Regional Board of Malaysia. It was indeed an excellent opportunity to share my thoughts, professional experiences, and perspectives on the sustainable aspects of leadership: how to equip ourselves as caring leaders to create longlasting success and #growth for our teams and our organizations. I covered: ✳️ 9 LeadershipMyths to bust. ✳️ Do you have what it takes to be a SustainableLeader? What’s your LeadershipStyle? ✳️ Are you prepared to EatLast? And why you must do so. ✳️ 11 traits of a sustainable leader. ✳️ And the fun part, “𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁! 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁” where students share their thought process of dealing with 3 real life situations at the workplace. For them to be rewarded with 2 mini prizes (self-improvement books) per scenario. My utmost gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Stella Ong Kim Yoke CMgr, Deputy Dean, Sunway Business School and Indu Krishnan, Lecturer, Sunway University for having me. With such warm hospitality to boot!🤗 Not forgetting a shout out to Mellisa Patrick MCMI of CMI Malaysia for her ever supportive and engaging participation.🌟 💌 Dr. Christina SS Ooi FCMI View photos.
