SVQ3 Management at SCQF Level 7

Our Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) are work-related, vocational qualifications that enable you to learn at your own pace in a way that suits you. They have been designed with the help of employers, which mean you're gaining the kind of skills that employers are looking for.

They also sit on the Management Apprenticeship Frameworks for Scotland.

Qualification purpose

The SVQ in Management at SCQF Level 7 is aimed at managers who have a responsibility for supporting the development of a team and contributing to planning, problem solving and decision making. Although no previous formal qualifications are required to embark on the SVQ, participants will need to demonstrate first line management experience.

Typical units:

  • Developing knowledge, skills and competence
  • Lead your team
  • Manage people’s performance at work
  • Develop operational plans
  • Implement change

Progression

These qualifications provide opportunities for progression to other qualifications at higher levels, which could also be work-based or more academically structured, or onto a Modern Apprenticeship.

The qualifications also support learners in meeting requirements for work and/or employment within all areas of management and leadership at this level.
