What is the CMI Management Bursary?
We believe that everyone, irrespective of their background, identity or circumstances, should have the opportunity to achieve their full career potential.
In celebration of our 75th anniversary, we offered 75 people the chance to develop their management and leadership skills, with a £1,000 yearly contribution, for up to 3 years.

What is the CMI Management Bursary?
As part of our 75th Anniversary celebrations, we are offering 75 people a bursary of up to £1000 per year, for a maximum of three years to support their management/leadership development.
The Bursary is split into three offerings:
Map to Management Award:
An award for those who aspire to be a manager, or find themselves in an entry level role. The applicant should have no formal management and leadership qualification.
Next Generation Award:
An award for those who find themselves in a junior management position. The applicant should have no formal management and leadership qualification, or is looking to progress their existing qualification to a higher level.
Pathway to Progression Award:
An award for those who have 3+ years experience in management. The applicant should have no formal management and leadership qualification, or is looking to progress their existing qualification to a higher level.
In order to be eligible for the bursary, the recipient must have either identified or have confirmed enrollment on a CMI qualification at a CMI approved centre. The bursary money can either be paid directly to the successful recipient to help towards course-related expenses, or directly to the centre providing the training towards the cost of the qualification. Applicants will need to identify where the money is to be paid to in their application process

CMI qualifications are designed in consultation with employers to develop the skills needed to succeed. Study through one of over 600 CMI Approved Learning Centres offering our range of qualifications at levels 2 through to 8.

Will I hear from you before the applications close?
Every applicant will receive a response as to whether their application has been successful or not. They may also be contacted and asked any further questions about their application. Applicants will not be contacted before the close date of 31st May. The bursary awards will be announced on the 30th June, so applicants can expect not to hear a response until after this date.
Can I request feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
Every applicant who applies will receive a response as to whether their application has been successful or not. CMI’s decision is final and unfortunately it won't be possible to give detailed feedback to all.
