LEADERSHIP IN AN ORGANISATION, NOT JUST OF AN ORGANISATION
Three key themes
- The role of transferable skills in career development. Illustrated through my personal journey, with reflections on which skills are important and readily transferred to new roles/sectors.
- A focus on leading inside an organisation. The importance of the professional approach to management and leadership as opposed to the British ‘disease’ of the accidental manager. The ‘tripod’ model of trusting/tending /tasking in leading others.
- Early reflections on digital disruption outside the tech sector and how AI will impact leadership and accountability.
The Careers Service facilitates presentations from a range of employers, study providers and voluntary organisations in order to inform students about the opportunities available to them. The views and opinions expressed in these presentations are those of the organisation(s) and do not necessarily represent the views of the Careers Service.
