The publication of ISO20700 marks a major milestone in the history of our profession and will prove beneficial to consultants and clients alike in defining what good practice in consultancy looks like. We must all work hard to promote it as vigorously as possible.

During the advisory session Nick will describe the key content of the ISO20700 Standard, the reasons why the International Committee of Management Consultancy Institutes (ICMCI) drove its development with ISO, and how the Standard aligns with the ICMCI Competence Framework and CMC process.

Nick will demonstrate how ICMCI have developed an effective means of applying the Standard in practice using the Project Self-Declaration Checklist and will indicate the possibilities for training and certification as a Consultant or Trainer in the use of the Checklist. He will also outline the ICMCI plans for future development in this area.

As a result of attending the session participants will gain a full understanding of the ISO20700 Standard and its practical use. They will gain an appreciation of the benefits to consultants and their clients in the application of the Standard in consultancy projects and will learn the process they can follow to be trained and certified.
