Levelling Up Management & Leadership: A Malaysian Perspective

Thursday 31st March 2022 at 5pm MYT

The concept of levelling up the nation has been gaining traction as a measure to introduce policies to reduce economic imbalances between social groups. Such initiatives, in various forms, have been playing out in and around the Asia Pacific region.

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) recognises that good management and leadership practices play a crucial role in aiding economic recovery efforts post-pandemic as well as boosting productivity at both the organisational and individual levels.

This face-to-face event, held at The Royal Selangor Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday 31st March, provided a Malaysian perspective on how we can level up not just at the national level, but at the societal and individual levels.

The event featured a networking session and a panel discussion to address these key topics that are evolving in the Malaysian landscape. The panel addressed how society and individuals can increase their self-awareness on their own gaps in management and leadership knowledge and take responsibility for their own success as professional managers. The panel also addressed how failing to do so will have broader implications on the economy, society and the sustainability of organisational growth in the future.
