Further information for MOD centres

There have recently been a number of changes to CMI qualifications. These changes ensure that content remains contemporary, that qualifications continue to meet the management and leadership needs of employers and thereby satisfy the conditions of recognition for our regulator - Ofqual.

A number of the qualifications have now expired and no further registrations for reach back can be accepted from centres for these qualifications from March 2020.

A new offer is dependent on remapping having taken place. Remapping is the process whereby CMI maps its qualifications to the assessments undertaken within the MOD. This requires the active cooperation of MOD centres.

Any CMI qualifications that you currently have mapped that link to existing or older programmes will need remapping.

All MOD CMI centres will have received instructions on how to make this happen towards the end of 2019.

CMI requires content and assessment documentation for each assessed training programme for which CMI qualifications are requested. Documentation should be sent to: abmodcentres@managers.org.uk

Ofqual, as the main regulator for CMI, will be introducing new minimum requirements from 2020 in relation to assessments completed by centres. Additional scrutiny requirements will mean that CMI may require additional external assessment prior to qualifications being awarded.

The qualifications listed below outline the certification deadlines across the MOD.

CMI's benefits and support extend to those serving in the Armed Forces as regulars or reservists as well as veterans.
