Jan is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and moved into academia after many years as a business practitioner, at director level. She was a key player in several mergers and acquisitions resulting in the implementation of strategic change. These experiences contributed to her to undertaking empirical research into business performance and complete her PhD studies which investigated aspects of business success.
Conference presentations, in an international context and publications which draw on the volatile context within which the contemporary 21st century organization must survive and demonstrates Jan’s subject expertise in Strategic Change. In her academic work she crosses the boundaries of traditional bodies of knowledge to provide innovative business solutions which incorporate a blend of practitioner insight, empirical data and theoretical perspectives. Jan maintains a presence on social media and serves on the Board of Directors of a successful crowd funded co-operative in the renewable energy sector.
As programme leader of the MBA suite at Wrexham Glyndŵr University, Jan contributes extensively to executive education and her high success rate of post-graduate supervision is appreciated by business students seeking to progress their career options. Her experience as a supervisor of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships enables close links with business to be maintained.
In her spare time Jan is a keen runner and regular attender at cardio classes. She is also a horse racing enthusiast and has written a column on the sport in a weekly newspaper for many years. Jan has wanderlust and travels extensively.
